READ GUIDE ↗These articles are educational resources, not investment advice or promises of trading performance. Historical tests are discussed as evidence with limitations, and live results can differ because of spreads, slippage, latency, broker conditions, market regime changes and account settings.
What to check before using an automated system
Start with the strategy rules and supported market conditions. Then examine position sizing, stop-loss behaviour, maximum exposure, spread limits and what happens during connection or execution problems. Backtest results can help investigate behaviour, but they do not establish what a system will earn in the future. A demo forward test on the intended broker is a useful next step because it exposes the system to current spreads and execution conditions.
Start with the fundamentals
If you are new to MT5 automation, begin with the Expert Advisor and installation guides. If you are evaluating a product, continue with the backtesting, risk-management and EA evaluation guides. The execution, VPS and news guides explain operational issues that can materially affect an automated strategy after it leaves the historical test environment.
